Compost Bins | Felton Covered Bridge Festival
We had a great time with our station set up for kiddos to paint the compost bins that will be used for Taco Tuesdays every third Tuesday this summer at the Felton Covered Bridge Park. We want to bring awareness to the waste created at events with one time use items and how we can keep them out of our landfills. Look at these sweet faces painting the bins!
San Lorenzo Valley Elementary School Talk | 5 Ways to Reduce Waste
We went into a 2nd/3rd combo class and talked to the kids about what happens to plastic that is not recycled properly and how they can make alternative choices to eliminate waste. Mikayla, our middle school ambassador came along and collected garbage from their lunch area. We showed the kids what happens to the animals that eat the wrappers, containers and straws from their lunches that end up in our oceans. Their teacher LOVED it and we will be back school wide next year!
Taco Tuesday | June 19
Everyone is invited to come and celebrate Taco Tuesdays in Felton. There will be three food trucks and a beer and wine garden. The Source Zero will be managing the recycling and composting bins along with Summit Waste and Recylcing. We will also have a water refill station, so make sure to bring your reusable water bottler!
